I was looking on CNN at the Health section and found an article titled "Paying more for alcohol saves lifes". At first I thought that maybe the more expensive alcohols are better for you but after reading it I found that out that is had nothing to do with that. The article was saying that raising taxes on alcohol has decrease the amount of deaths related to alcohol. That is not including deaths related to driving and drinking.
If they are going to raise the taxes on alcohol I can see how it might help to some extended but in the long run people need to learn to drink responsible or some just need help with their bad habits. Raising the prices is just finding a way to hide the situation. Yeah people who can't afford the alcohol are going to cut down on drinking but those are going to be the only ones. Also people who have a disorder with drinking are just going to find other ways to get money for fix of alcohol. I just don't think that raising prices is the best was to decrease deaths. I guess we need to do anything thing that will help.
